No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.
Broadmoor Community Church welcomes anyone who would like to become a member of our church family. We understand that membership in a church is a significant and important decision. The only thing we ask of our members is a genuine commitment to learn and serve.
We encourage you to meet the following criteria before you join the church:
- Attend worship services on a regular basis
- Get involved in a small group ministry (e.g. Bible study, usher, choir, mission work)
- Make an annual pledge to the church
Once you have decided to make this your church family and home we encourage you attend a New Member Orientation session we call Membership 101. This is an informational meeting with Dr. Chapman and other senior staff. You’ll learn the history and purpose of our church, our affiliation and how you can get involved.. There are two sessions to this course, both on Sundays, during the 10:00am Community Hour. Sessions are held at different points throughout the year and new members are then received during a Sunday worship service shortly afterwards. Childcare is provided, upon request.
If you would like more information or you would like to sign up for the next available Membership 101 session, please contact Mary McInnis (473-1807 x119).
A Commentary on Becoming a Member …
… That’s my church!
A young mother whose family frequently attends Broadmoor Community Church was driving past when her child asked “Mom, is that our church?” The mother did not want to lie to her child so she decided to make it official by joining.
New member Shannon Cole and her family just made it official in January. She says, “There is a sense of commitment and camaraderie that comes with membership. As a member, a sense of responsibility fuels my actions.”
Senior Pastor Dr. Jim Chapman likened it to “the difference between taking a class for credit or auditing the course. You have much more invested as a church member, and take more responsibility and ownership.”
Now is your chance to become a member of BCC. Whether you’ve been coming to worship services for years, or this is your first visit via the web, we would love to have you join our church family.
The beautiful thing about our church is that even if you don’t “join”, we still consider you part of our church. You just won’t be able to tell yourself, your kids, friends and neighbors … “Yes, that is my church!”
